Make calendula salve from scratch while learning about the healing properties of various herbs and how to plot/tend your own small herb garden with landscape designer, Jacinda Martinez.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
​
Calendula is a beautiful flower for your garden and a healing herb for your skin. Join master grower and landscape designer, Jacinda Martinez, for a fun afternoon making your own calendula salve and learning about the healing properties of various herbs. Students will learn the quick heat method of making calendula salve for your face and body.
In addition, students will learn about other herbs that will go together with calendula in a manageable herb plot. This class is for you if you have ever wanted to explore working with flowers from your garden for medicinal purposes. Calendula is a great gateway herb to get started with! Attendees will walk away with two 2oz tins of calendula salve, calendula seeds, and a garden design template to go home and start your own herb garden!

WORKSHOP SPECIFICS
WHAT'S INCLUDED
All tools and materials will be provided for use during this class. You will leave with two 2oz tins of calendula salve, calendula seeds, and an herb garden design template.

HOURS & LOCATION
The class will run approximately 3 hours, starting promptly at 1pm and ending at 4pm. This workshop is an in-person course hosted in the Art Barn at Howe Hill Farm in Camden, Maine.

REFUNDs
If you need to cancel, please notify us via email at least 15 days before the start of the workshop. We will refund your tuition, minus a $50 cancellation fee or you may transfer your full tuition amount to another Workshop at Howe Hill Farm within 18 months. Cancellations made within 15 days of the workshop will result in forfeit of the full tuition amount. If you are traveling to attend a workshop we recommend insuring your trip with Travelex insurance so your trip and tuition will be covered in the event of illness or unforeseen circumstances.

​ MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
JACINDA
MARTINEZ
Jacinda Martinez is an artist and the owner and operator of Grounded Local, an edible garden and landscape design business based in Midcoast Maine.
Jacinda got her start farming on Long Island nearly two decades ago, working for various CSA farms. She worked as the head gardener at Primo restaurant in Rockland, Maine for many years before starting her own garden consulting business. This will be her 17th year of growing plants for a living and she is still loving it. Jacinda is passionate about empowering others to embark on their own growing journey - whether that be a small herb patch, kitchen garden or a larger homestead plot.
